Born July 20, 1945, she grew up in Texas before moving to San Diego, CA, where she raised her family. She later settled in El Cajon, CA with her husband, Milton, in 2003.
Prior to retiring, Jo worked as a caregiver for those of advanced age. Her true calling, however, was her faith and devotion to God. Her service to those in need through compassion and ministry led her to volunteer as a member of the Eucharistic Ministry Team at Sharp Memorial Grossmont Hospital. Her commitment to God took various forms from praying and reading God’s word every day to giving Holy Communion to the sick and infirm.
Jo also loved her parakeets, and with her husband, had many over the past 30 years. When she was not enjoying day trips with her family, she loved surrounding herself with images of angels. Her life and faith are a blessing and inspiration to all who knew and loved her and she will be deeply missed by her family and dear friends.
Jo was predeceased by her parents: Bertha Vega-Cardona and Fermin Cardona; and her Aunt Rose and Uncle Red of Brownsville, TX.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 24 years, Milton Jones; her siblings: Joe, Mary, Bertha, Lydia and David; her three sons: Randy Prindle, Lisa Frank, Gene Prindle, Tommy Prindle (Serena Kwock); and her grandchildren: RJ Prindle, Brianna and Joshua Meek, Cynthia Prindle (Alan Moreno), Manolito Prindle, Lilian Prindle, and Zachary Prindle; and three great-grandchildren: Matthew Meek, Annalicia Morena, and Baxley Ballard.
