John A. "Bud" Rutherford, born on November 8, 1930, died on November 29, 2013. He was a third generation San Diegan. Bud grew up in La Jolla and attended La Jolla High School. He went to college at San Luis Obispo and San Diego
State University. He worked as a physicist at numerous local corporations during his career. Bud is survived by his wife of 58 years, Rosemary; and three children, Tom and wife Susan, Tim, and Sue and husband Steve Scatolini. He had two grandchildren, Matthew and Samantha Rutherford and a granddog, Sally. Bud was a former lifeguard, loved the beach, and competed in the World Bodysurfing Championships. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
The memorial service will be held Saturday, December 14th, at the Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church at
10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Point Loma Community Presbyterian Church.
