I have the pleasure to work with John when he worked at CSC in the 1990s under a joint project.  John was smart and key to a lot of our discussion.

I’ve had the pleasure of driving Mr Malo for about a year and a half; he was a quiet man. He would sit in the back staring forward with an air of quiet strength. My attempts to converse with him were met with a friendly “fine” and my attempts to make him smile were met with a look of “stick to your day job”.  I usually listen to motivational speakers in the car as I’m driving that almost everybody seems to receive well. One night driving back from dialysis Zig Ziglar “motivational speaker” told a story about a wealthy Texan that wanted to give whoever crosses his mansion’s swimming pool “filled with alligators” could ask him whatever he wants and that person would get their wish. As Zig continued to tell his story I looked in my rear view mirror and behold there was Mr Malo smiling ear to ear in his chair. It just felt like that’s space in time was vaulted in my brain.  I finally managed to make him smile; Rest In Peace  Mr Malo you will always be remembered. 

My thoughts and prayers are with John's family: Dorothy, his children and grandchildren. John was such a nice and friendly man and know he will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
