#3 from Brother Mike:  Thank you, Jeanne, for the joy you gave me in my early life--the many card and board games you played with me, the great stories you regaled me with  on your visits home to Lancaster from college, the many Christmas visits to FL with the family while I was there in high school and college, the generous gesture of covering my fraternity initiation fee, the many times you let my crash at your place in New Haven when I was at school in New Hampshire.  You have and will hold a special place in my heart.

#2 from Brother Mike:  Jeanne is survived, in addition to her immediate family, by brother Michael Gable of Winooski, VT and sister Alice McLamb of Williamsburg, VA;  by brother-in-law Jack Kuchinsky of Newtown, PA, nephews Michael Kuchinsky of Los Alamos, NM, Robert Kuchinsky of Key West, FL, Ryan McLamb of Ashland, VA, Gregory McLamb of Scarborough, ME, Adam McLamb of Norfolk, VA, and niece Mary Catharine McLamb of Venice, CA; by three great-nephews and two great-nieces.  Jeanne was predeceased by a sister, Carole Ann Gable Kuchinsky and a nephew, John Kuchinsky.

#1 from Brother Mike:  For those who are interested, I am providing a glimpse of Jeanne's early life.  Jeanne Louise Gable was born 18 Nov 1934 in Lancaster, PA (NOT CA) to the late Harold Walker Gable (1908-1991) and Mary Catharine Liebeck Gable (1910-2003).  Jeanne was descended from many of the earliest Mennonite, Presbyterian and Lutheran settlers of Lancaster County.  Her early schooling was at Sacred Heart Academy in Lancaster.  The principal, Sister M. Victoria was a close friend of the family.  One of Jeanne's fondest memories there was singing for a visiting friend of Sr. Victoria, Maria von Trapp.  From 1946 to 1948, Jeanne lived in Anchorage, Alaska, where our father was stationed with the US Air Force.   Four years later she graduated from Lancaster Catholic High School where she played violin in the school orchestra, was a  majorette, and belonged to many clubs.  After another four years, she graduated with a B.S. in Nursing from Georgetown University, and then worked for several years as a nurse with the Washington, D. C. VNA.  She then taught at St. Joseph School of Nursing in Lancaster before she left for Boston to earn her M.S. in Public Health from Simmons & Harvard.  She was offered a position teaching in the Public Health School at Harvard, but chose to work as a Superintendent for the VNA in New Haven, CT, where she worked until her marriage.
