Jeanette Bertha Hoch

Jeanette Hoch of San Diego, CA passed away peacefully on May 11, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Frances Julian of Niagara Falls, NY. Although she was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Jeanette grew up in Niagara Falls, New York where she graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1949. On May 1, 1954, she married 1st SGT Arthur A. Hoch USMC at Sacred Heart Church. Arthur predeceased her on April 5, 2008. Jeanette loved her faith and was a long-standing member of Sacred Heart Church and later at Good Shepherd Church in San Diego. She was employed as an office manager for over 30 years and worked for Dr. Bax and Dr. Somayaji before retiring on 1997.

Jeanette moved from Niagara Falls, NY to San Diego, CA in January 1998 to be near her sons and grandchildren. While in Niagara Falls, Jeanette was active in local theater and arts. She enjoyed singing and dancing. Later in San Diego she joined a choir and brought joy to seniors at various retirement homes and services for the blind in. She was also a faithful donator to St. Jude Hospitals. Jeanette will be remembered as the kind, giving and loving person that she was. Her caring personality touched so many lives. She enjoyed spending time with her friends at the senior center in Mira Mesa and at the “Woods” senior center. Most importantly she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Jeanette is survived by her sons, Arthur (Shelley), David (late Maureen) both of San Diego, Ca. She leaves behind five grandchildren, Kathy Reisig (Jim), Nicole Hoch, Christopher Hoch, Joshua Hoch and Nicholas Hoch as well as four great grandchildren,

Jacob, Jordan, Jessie, Summer and one great great grandson, Jaden. Jeanette is also survived by her brother, Peter Julian (Suzanne) of Philadelphia, PA, her niece Cheryl Julian-Ortman, nephew Peter Julian and several more nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Jeanette will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at El Camino Memorial - Sorrento Valley, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121.

A Funeral Mass will occur Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 10:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8200 Gold Coast Drive, San Diego, CA 92126.

A graveside service will occur Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 12:00 PM at El Camino Memorial Park, 5600 Carroll Canyon Road, San Diego, CA 92121.
