Jim passed on to his eternal home at the age of 84 years from complications of Parkinson’s Disease on December 2, 2022. He was born in San Diego and lived almost all of his life in the San Diego area. He graduated from Pt. Loma High School in 1956. He received a B.A. degree at SDSU in P.E. and completed the physical therapy program at Stanford University. His college was interrupted by serving his commitment in the Army. In 1961 he met and married the love of his life, Norma and they were married over 60 years. He had a private practice in physical therapy until 2002, after which he continued his career in home health. Jim was an active member of the San Diego County Football Referees Association for over 50 years. He also refereed track.
He is survived by his wife, Norma; one brother, Daniel; 3 adult children Rebecca Dierdorff (Dan), Sarah Miltimore (Sean), David Sibbet (Samantha) and 7 grandchildren: Zachary, Katie, Claire, Matthew, Evan, Emma and Lily.
Jim had a charismatic personality and a contagious sense of humor with many friends. He was dedicated to any task he accepted. He was a dedicated family man who will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on December 17, 2022 at Lakeside Community Presbyterian Church; 9908 Channel Road; Lakeside, CA. 92040. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s research.
