He was born in Newry,County of Armagh, No. Ireland. He was a devout Catholic, member of All Hallows Church in La Jolla for 15 years. He will be remembered for his love of God, his devotion to his wife, and his great enthusiasm for soccer and golf. Family was important to James, he never missed a celebration, birthday or holiday.
James was very proud of his Irish Heritage…. He had many stories to tell about his adventures and tales to tell in the “Old Country” of Ireland. He was always very active and supportive in the Irish community of San Diego. He was always ready for a session and good party. He loved having a few pints in the pub, with “Slainte” as his favorite saying. He cruised the streets of Clairemont in his “pride and joy” the green Jaguar. He is racing on the tracks in heaven. He was also a card carrying union man for over 67 years. He laid bricks across Canada and the United States.
James will be missed at Wesley Palms Retirement Community, where he resided for the last 14 years. He loved the staff and his many wonderful friends he met while there. He loved his view overlooking the ocean and Mission Bay. He loved Wesley Palms, and they took good care of him.
Our family would like to say thank you to all who were a part of his life through friendships and his care givers. We appreciate the love and support for all who knew and took care of him. He was a true gentleman.
