Jacklyn R. Bennett was born in Green Bay Wisconsin, and her parents and two sisters moved to San Diego when she was young. She attended Our Lady of Peace High School, where she excelled in both academics and sports. After graduation, she met her husband, Hugh Bennett, and they had a son named Scott. She was a loving mother, and Scott’s friends would frequently want to come over to enjoy her cooking and her hospitality. She enjoyed and was very proficient at tennis and golf, and she supported Hugh and Scott’s past time as racing sailors with enthusiasm. Later in life, she embraced her role as caregiver for her mother, two sisters, and her friend Lil. She was known as a very giving person, who would much rather give to others than take for herself. She had a special role in her granddaughter Ashley’s life, and they were very close. Over the last few years, Ashley, her son Scott, and her caregivers could only try to give her back a fraction of the love and compassion she showed others. Jacklyn is survived by her son Scott Bennett (Brianna), and her granddaughters Ashley Bennett and Lauren Phonxaya (James), and her great granddaughter Aundraya James Phonxaya. Everybody that knew her will miss her greatly.
