July 6, 1931 on the island of Madeira, Portugal. First born son to Maria and Antonio Luz, his
siblings followed; Carlos Luz (2015), Mary Luz, Elizabeth Soares, and Martha Telo. He attended
Point Loma High School and participated in many sports including CIF. He loved getting
together with his friends that called themselves the “forty-niners”. He was married to Carmen
(2007) and had two children, daughter Debra and son Michael (who preceded him). Isaias was
enlisted in the Coast Guard in 1952 and served in Alaska. He was an all around commercial
tuna fisherman ( on board nurse, navigator, captain, and teacher). He was in the fishing industry
for over fifty-five years. He lived a full life and his family always cherished his stories. A man we
will always remember. We salute with honor, love, and respect a very special man, son, father,
brother, and a friend. He will be truly missed. May he rest in peace.
On Friday April 5th, 2019, the burial will be at Fort Rosecrans cemetery at 9:15am.
On Saturday April 6th, 2019, the Memorial and reception will be at 1:00pm at the Kingdom Hall
of Jehovah’s Witness
