Helen Veronica Moran, 101, passed away July 14, 2016. She was born the ninth of ten children and was the last living member of her siblings. Helen survived a life-threatening illness in early childhood which greatly diminished her hearing. She coped with this life-long impairment with dignity and grace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence F. Moran and her parents, Anthony and Johanna Schenker, Pittsburgh, PA. and her siblings. Following her marriage, she moved to Titusville, PA where she was a homemaker and mother. After her husband passed away in 1962, she became an assistant librarian at Benson Memorial Library in Titusville for 19 years retiring to join two sisters in Florida. The “three golden girls” enjoyed an active and happy life together for twenty plus years. She is survived by her daughter, Doris Allsup of San Diego, CA; three granddaughters, Andrea Allsup of Santa Clarita, CA, Julia King of San Diego, CA and Karen Bell of Cypress, CA; five great-grandsons, Thomas, Patrick Owen, Daniel, Charles Martin and William and many nieces and nephews. Helen moved to San Diego to live with her daughter, Doris, for the last three years of her life. Per her wishes, Helen was cremated. A private service and interment next to her husband will be in St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Titusville, PA. Donations in her memory may be made to the Benson Memorial Library at 213 N.
