Gilbert Ruben Guzman

Guzman, Gilbert Ruben, 77, of Del Mar, CA was born on July 17, 1935 in Ventura, CA and passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and friends on February 27, 2013. Gilbert is survived by Elvira Guzman, wife of 48 years and his children Gilbert Arthur Guzman, 46, Judy Guzman Krueger 43, Mary Gonzalez 37 and Humberto Gonzalez, 35. He has two grandchildren, Jordan Nicole Krueger 15 and Nicholas Daniel Krueger, 13.

Gilbert was a retired educator and school administrator of the San Diego Unified School District for over 50 years. He was a world traveler, a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Gilbert is best remembered as a role model, advisor and for his sense of humor. He was instrumental in bettering the lives of everyone who knew him. He was humble, articulate, witty, generous, enthusiastic and wise. A conversationalist at heart, he took a genuine interest in everyone he ever met.

Services will be held on Monday, March 4, 2013: Visitation at Goodbody Mortuary from 8:30-10:30am with

Mass at St. James Catholic Church, Solana Beach at Noon.
