Evangeline Sharpe of Oceanside, CA passed away Monday, May 15th, 2017 at Scripps Memorial Hospital La Jolla. She was born in Kalambaka Greece, the daughter of Rev. Christos and Bessie Moulas, and soon after came to the United States to begin her life as an American. Throughout her life, she was well versed in two cultures and lived her life dedicated to education, becoming a middle school teacher, serving for 41 years at Jefferson Middle School in Oceanside. She was involved in Delta Kappa Gamma, holding various offices; she was awarded the WHO Award by the San Diego County California Teacher’s Association for her work in the Oceanside School District. Upon retirement, she joined the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary serving as the liaison for Centre City, The Citadel and Oceanside Corps. The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary of San Diego County honored her as a 2017 Woman of Dedication. Throughout her life she was dedicated to the Greek community and church teaching Sunday school, and as a member of Daughters of Penelope and Philoptochos. She exemplified a life of serving others and will be missed by all who loved her. Evangeline is survived by her daughter Christina, and sister Patricia. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Demetra.
