Born in San Diego California spent much of early childhood in Alpine California (where she attended elementary school). Attended Grossmont High School. Attended UCLA where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, accepted to Pre-Med, then finished with teaching credentials when she was engaged to be married.
Married August 19, 1956 to Alfred Thomas Barrack.
They raised 7 children and have been blessed with 25 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Elaine put aside her career to become a devoted wife and dedicated mother. She always said her greatest reward in life was to be fully present & available to raise her children the best she knew how by being there and teaching her Faith through love and example. She gave unselfishly and served as an advocate in her life of dedication to service for the intellectually and developmentally disabled like her daughter Lorraine.
She will dearly be missed by all, but we will look to the light of heaven knowing mom is always with us.
A rosary and funeral mass for Elaine will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Santa Sophia Church, 9800 San Juan St., Spring Valley, CA 91977. A burial will occur at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausolem, 4470 HILLTOP DR, SAN DIEGO, California 92102-3651.
