Diane was born in White Plains, NY on October 25, 1953. She graduated from Oakton High School in Vienna, VA. and The University of Denver with a dual degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. She was named in Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges. After college in 1971, Diane started her engineering career with Lockheed Martin Missiles and Space. At that time, she was one of only a few women in the engineering field. She spent 26 fulfilling years working as a Computer Programmer and System Engineer in Denver, Co. and San Jose, CA. In 2000, she relocated with her family to San Diego to help take care of her ailing parents. She pursued her passion for teaching at Warren – Walker School in Point Loma. Diane’s hobbies included knitting, gardening, daily word games, and travel. Family was most important to Diane and traveled extensively with them.
Diane battled complications with Pulmonary Hypertension and Scleroderma in her lungs. She is survived by her loving husband Greg Wood, daughter Moorea Elizabeth Wood, and nephews Chris and Eric Reading.
