Dagmar V. Wagner, 95, passed away March 2, 2019. She was born March 27, 1923, in Alderwood Manor, Washington, to immigrant parents from Sweden. She graduated from Edmonds High in 1940 and pursued a career in cosmetology.
In 1946, Dagmar moved here from Washington with her husband, Joseph, who was serving in the U.S. Navy. She lived in the community of Ocean Beach for over 70 years. Dagmar was a stay-at-home mother, and she always welcomed and enjoyed family and friends. She had a passion for music, especially Country Western. She loved solving crossword puzzles, playing Scrabble and canasta (samba), growing tomatoes, pretty carnations and roses.
Dagmar was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph, her four sisters and two brothers. She is survived by daughters Victoria Dempsey (Jack) and Linda Nelson (Elmer), two grandsons, a nephew and four nieces. She will be deeply missed, and we cherish and feel fortunate for all the wonderful memories and happy times shared together.
We want to thank the staff and caregivers at Assisted Living at La Vida Real for her excellent care during the past year, as well as Vitas. Family suggests donations to Disabled American Veterans and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Memorial Service pending at Fort Rosecrans.
