Craig Scott Nash was born at Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara on April 18, 1960 to Carolyn and James Nash, and big brother Jim Nash. He grew up in Santa Barbara until 1969 when he moved to Walnut Creek, CA. He attended Los Lomas High School in Walnut Creek and graduated in 1978. He attended San Diego State University. He ran track for San Diego State University and achieved the status of NCAA All American. His events were the 100 meter and the 220. He was also a very successful soccer player and played for SDSU while in college, and then on many league teams after college.
After college, he and his brother Jim went into business together with a Mr. Miniblind franchise. After that, he worked for Pac Drill doing soil sampling and later became a soil sample inspector. In 1993, he married Robin Brock and they had a baby girl on June 19, 2002. They named her Jamie Carolyn Nash and she was Craig’s pride and joy. He loved spending time with her and his dog, Ruby, at dog beach. Craig loved the ocean and often surfed and spent days at the beach until sunset. He also loved music and was a huge Grateful Dead fan. He and his brother Jim attended hundreds of Grateful Dead shows together. He loved sports, especially the NFL and Major League Baseball. He and Jamie attended many San Diego Padre games together and he had season tickets to the San Diego Chargers with his brother, Jim, for many years.
Craig had a quick wit and always made the people he was with smile and laugh. He was a lot of fun and will be deeply missed.
