Cindy Wills Kitrosser

Cindy Wills Kitrosser, known more affectionately to many as Cici, is the true definition of a life well-lived, with dignity and passion. She was born to Beverly and Jack Wills in Coronado, California on October 20th, 1957. On November 23, 2022, after her 3 ½ year battle with ovarian cancer Cindy gained her angel wings peacefully, surrounded by family. She is survived by her husband, daughters, son-in-laws, granddaughter, grandson-in-law, great-grandson, along with her mother, sisters, brother-in-law, nieces, and nephews. Her doggies Winnie and Lacey will miss her, while her original fury companions Alex, Gallahad and Freeway await their reunion.

From the time she was a child, Cindy proved to be a very special little lady with amazing commitment and focus. Growing up she learned to build friendships, experience adventure, and create memories. She was an avid reader who would never be found without a book, along with a stack of several more waiting on her nightstand. She shared her favorites with friends and family over the years, helping to spread the magic of stories that could transport us into history or into the lives of others.

She survived and thrived after a long-term fight against Guillain-Barré Syndrome in her 20’s to go on to build an incredible career in Finance. She was a Certified Public Account and held many titles over the years, including Chief Financial officer. Her volunteer work was endless as she believed so deeply in giving back. She served on the boards of the Make A Wish Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation and Habitat for Humanity, also working as a Wish Granter with Make a Wish to grant wishes and help make children’s and families’ lives a little better.

Cindy married Ed on January 21st, 1995, and planned her wedding to be a true celebration filled with love and family. She loved to bring everyone together and to make memories that would last a lifetime. She and Ed travelled the world together, experiencing new things, eating all the local foods, and making new friends along the way. From Paris, to London, to Australia, China, African Safari, Bali, and Tahiti, they did it all together. One of their favorite trips was to Italy where they attended a cooking school together and joyfully ate their way through the countryside. When in San Diego, Cindy and Ed could often be found watching football or baseball games in their backyard oasis or cheering on the Padres in Petco Park.

Her illness in the last few years of her life tried to slow her down but she would not let it. She fought tirelessly to live her life to the fullest, spending time with her family and friends, continuing to travel as much as she could. She celebrated every moment of wellbeing, continuing to walk, kayak, explore and hug everyone that she could. Her smile could light up a room and continued to bring happiness to everyone, even during some of the days that were hardest for her.

She continued to be a voice of gentleness, calm and love throughout her life, making everyone better for having known her. Her life is a shining example of the importance of love, kindness, wisdom, tolerance, and forgiveness. She was a warrior for her family and for all those who were lucky enough to know her. She touched more lives than we will ever know with her compassion, support, friendship, and spirit of fun. Nothing made her happier than bringing a smile to someone’s face and nothing could make her more upset than cruelty and unkindness

Family was everything to her and through her example, she taught us all how to love and care for each other without measure, judgment, or hesitation. None of us were ready to see her go but her legacy will live on forever in all our hearts as we all live every day to make her proud and to Lean into the Love!

A High Tea will be hosted in Cindy’s (Cici’s) honor at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, December 7th at Pacific Beach La Jolla Chapel located at 4710 Cass Street, San Diego.
