Charles Spain Jamison passed away on June 20, 2017, surrounded by his loving family after a long battle with Advanced COPD. He was born to parents Kenneth Brown and Kathleen Spain Jamison in the City of Los Angeles, where he spent all of his childhood and adult life. He attended Westchester Senior High and went on to serve in the US Army between the years of 1964 and 1966. After serving our country, he went on to earn his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from the University of Southern California. He spent twenty years working as a claims investigator supporting major insurance companies and law firms, and later spent the last fourteen years working as a front desk hotel clerk at the Best Western Royal Palace Inn. Our beloved "Uncle Otto" is survived by his sister-in-law, Teresa Jamison, who is the widow of Charles' only brother, Richard W. Jamison, Sr.; he is also survived by his four nieces and nephews: Alexandra Jamison-Hernandez with spouse Timothy Hernandez, Richard Jamison Jr. with spouse Beth Jamison, Kenneth Charles Jamison, and Francesca Jamison, as well as his great nephews and nieces, Valentina & Quentin Hernandez and Carter Jamison. Charles also cherished the familial relationships he was able to maintain with his distant cousins living throughout the US. Over the last few years, as his health declined and needing more assistance, he often expressed the gratitude he felt to have the support of his caretaker, Dianna S., and long-time neighbor Anna L. He was a man of integrity and always had a friendly and generous demeanor with whomever he encountered; he will be dearly missed. Every time our family visits a Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, we will always think of him enjoying his favorite blended mocha drink with whipped cream and chocolate drizzle - it was such a welcomed treat for him and we treasured those times together. To honor and remember his life, there will be a memorial service held at the end of July, at a military cemetery in San Diego. For more information, please contact Alexandra Hernandez.
