Carol Jean Wagaman

Carol was born April 19, 1932, in Aurora, Lawrence County, MO, to Walter Conditt and Audrey (Garrison) Talburt. She married Charles E. Wagaman on June 30, 1957, in Aurora, MO.

Surviving her are one son, David Wagaman, and one daughter, Nancy Wagaman, both of San Diego, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one brother, Patrick E. Talburt.

She was a 1954 graduate of Southwest Missouri State University, where she received a degree in Music Education with a Diploma in Voice.

She taught music in elementary schools in Springfield, IL, and at Pleasant Valley School in Peoria County, IL, retiring in 1989.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Peoria since 1957 where she was a member of Harvesters Class, United Methodist Women, 55+ and Caring Hearts Ministry. She participated in other areas of the church as well as directing children’s choirs there for many years. She was a vocal soloist for churches and musical organizations and sang with the Peoria Philharmonic Chorale and the Peoria Symphony.

She was a member of the Peoria County Genealogy Society, Peoria Area Retired Teachers Association, and the National Society of Daughters of the American Revolution. She moved to San Diego in 2007 and joined First United Methodist Church San Diego in November 2008.
