Betty Sue Tickner

Betty Sue Tickner was born in San Diego January 6, 1956 and passed away March 6, 2022. She was the youngest daughter of five children born to James C. and Dorothy B. Schmidt. She was the Wife of Ronnie Tickner for 36 years.

Betty Sue Schmidt graduated from Kearny High School in 1974 and became a highly skilled Manicurist and Esthetician. Her clients included many flight attendants and successful business women.

She was the owner of Fancy Fingers Salon in Hillcrest.

Betty Sue loved the outdoors....and was an accomplished water skier, rollerblader and swimmer. The ocean was a playground for Betty Sue, Ronnie and their family dogs. A love of gardening was passed on to her from her Mother and Grandmother. Travel adventures included several cruises with family and best friends. The cruises seem to have sparked the courage to "solo travel" to Europe to join her parents to five additional countries.

In her early semi-retirement years....she poured her heart and soul into assisting our parents and her husband with much comfort and happiness. Betty Sue continued to make life-long friends, especially in their neighborhood, where she was known for her nurturing, cooking and compassion.

Betty Sue is survived by her husband Ronnie, three sisters Linda Parker, Judy Bunger, Patricia Oliver & brother Jimmy Schmidt.

She is also survived by Nieces and Nephews Jason & Jennifer, Kimberly, Chrissey & Katie, Daniel & Jeffrey, Christopher & Melissa. Great Nieces and Nephews Brady, Nova & Saylor, Rey & Oliver, Rielyn, Ashlyn & Kellan, Macy, Kensie & Caffrey, Hawkins, Hendrix & Hagen, Kelly, Reese, Harper & Kingston. Brother-in-law George Bunger and Sister-in-law Carol Schmidt. And Stella too. As well as extended family cousins.
