Virginia “Ginny” Martinez, 72, of Colton, was taken by her hand by the Blessed Mother to Heaven and received by our Lord on October 28, 2016. She was born in San Bernardino on March 15, 1944 to Tony and Guillerma Luna and graduated from San Bernardino High School. She retired with over 30 years of service as a Federal Employee at Norton Air Force Base and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. A special highlight of her life was to serve as a member of the San Bernardino County Grand Jury.
She devoted her time and talent to several local service and charity organizations, especially involving children. Virginia touched the hearts of many throughout her life and her smile will never be forgotten. You would see her at every sports event of her beloved son and grandsons with a special place in her heart for Colton Football and Baseball.
Virginia was a devoted parishioner of San Salvador Catholic Church in Colton. She inspired and encouraged others to never give up and trust in the Lord.
Virginia is survived by her son, Deacon Mark Steven and his dear wife, Emily. Grandsons Mark Jr., Manuel, and Ryan, all of Colton.
Siblings Rudy, Robert, Debbie, and Carolyn.
Her life companion Juan Negrete.
Her family would like to extend their appreciation to Juan Negrete, Lupe Molina, the Avila Family, family and friends, and Charter Hospice-San Gabriel for all their love and compassion.
Rosary 10:30am and Mass 11am on November 7, 2016 at San Salvador Catholic Church. Graveside services following at Mt. View Cemetery in San Bernardino.
