Our darling Sarah Kathleen Joy Anderson transitioned on May 4th, 2023. She is forever present in spirit to her most loving supporter and friend, her Mother, Joy Anderson. She also leaves behind her brothers Tyrek, Michael T. Jr, and a host of family and friends whom she loved, and loved her as dearly.
Sarah was preceded to heaven by her brother Michael James in July 2021.
Sarah held many passions, and was truly gifted. During her elementary and middle school years she took ballet, tap and piano lessons. She also enjoyed many creative outlets such as writing poetry and sketching.
In high school, she was accepted into the prestigious International Baccalaureate Program. During that time her love for service was displayed in her volunteer work with the San Bernardino Chapter of the NAACP as a Youth Secretary. In this position she facilitated claims processing, and assisted with the coordination of community efforts. She was also a Youth Volunteer at San Bernardino Community Hospital in the Pediatric Department, where she further shared her love and light through the act of serving others.
Following graduation, Sarah had the pleasure of launching a business with her high school sweetheart and husband. They owned and operated Vanguard Technical & Media Services, where she worked until her diagnosis.
Despite her health challenges, her hobbies flourished with her enjoyment of family barbecues which often showcased the culinary skills of her brother Tyrek. Sarah also enjoyed watching Anime with her older cousins Derrick and Daron. As a young child, she learned the meticulous skill of knitting from her Grandmother Aileen Lord. She loved traveling to different countries and embraced every moment with her Mother, Joy. With a life so joyfully lived, all who loved her may take solace in the following:
“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe in Me as well. In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and welcome you into My presence, so that you also may be where I am.”
-John 14: 2,3
"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord."
-2 Corinthians 5:8
A funeral service for Sarah will be held Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery, 570 East Highland Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92404, followed by a graveside service from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM.
