James D'Ondrea Woods was born January 3, 1957 in Los Angeles, California. James precedes his mother, Romanita, in death as well as his three sisters Najila, Diana, and Jamet, children James Jr., D'Ona, D'Son, and Elijah, grandchildren Isaiah and Adenike, his favorite cousin Miriam, and a host of other relatives and friends.
James was a loving, kind-hearted and tender child. Growing up, he loved archery, playing little league baseball, studying cello, practicing judo, and assembling and painting toy model cars. He played chess and became so good that his father James would no longer play chess with him because he got tired of losing.
James attended Pasadena City College and Oakwood University. He was baptized at the Altadena SDA Church, April 22, 2000, and later transferred to 16th Street SDA Church in San Bernardino. James loved and helped other people and showed the love of Jesus Christ by his actions, and as a result led friends to our Savior. He made us laugh and always had a smile on his face, even in the toughest times. And boy did he love to dress. James loved to sing and study the Word of God. James will be greatly missed.
