Elisabeth Taylor, age 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 23, 2023. Elisabeth was born on June 5, 1928 in Schlatzendorf, Germany to Josef and Franziska Edenhofer. She had five older siblings; Hedwig, Maria, Alfonse, Anton and Josef. She met and fell in love with a handsome airman, Alex Louis Taylor Jr. They were married on November 4, 1952 in Germany. Alex and Elisabeth were married for 51 years and had three children, Alex III, Evi Heidi and Reinhold. In 1953 the Taylor family immigrated to the United States.
Although Elisabeth was raised in the Catholic Church she joined the protestant faith after she married Alex. She and Alex were members of Traditional Community Fellowship Church (TCFC), founded in 1990. Elisabeth loved the Lord and her church family. She served as an usher for many years and was a mother of the church.
Elisabeth was a nurse’s aide and later a telemetry monitoring technician at St. Bernadine’s hospital. She was a devoted employee for 35 years. Caring for others was her life’s greatest joy. She played an immense role in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was excited to learn that she was going to be a great-great grandmother. It was a blessing that she got to meet and spend time with Micah Moore. Elisabeth adored her grandson, Andre, and never quite got over his tragic death in 1996.
Elisabeth was a friendly person and enjoyed the company of friends and family. She joined the YMCA in San Bernardino where she loved water aerobics. She was also a member of the NCO Wives Club through Norton Air force Base. She was an enthusiastic participant in their many luncheons and field trips. She also loved going to the casino with her son Reinhold and dear friend Annie (Cookie) Moore.
Although her youngest son Reinhold lived across the country in Tennessee, he remained close to his mom through the years. After the loss of her husband, Reinhold phoned his mom almost every evening. She looked forward to their nightly conversations. She was devastated by his untimely passing last year.
In later years despite the challenges of poor eyesight and dementia, her devotion to family remained strong. She never failed to ask about her family and prayed for their welfare. She will be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
Those left to cherish her memory are: Children: Jacqueline Marie Furby (John), Alex Louis Taylor III, Evi Heidi Taylor Roberson, Beverley Taylor (daughter-in-law), and Grandchildren: Lisa Furby, Monique Moore (Anthony), Reinhold Taylor Jr., Marcus Furby, Kody Taylor (Renee), Great-grandchildren: Jason Furby, Myles Moore (Zsaniece), Andre Moore, Ariel Turner, Reinhold Taylor III, Great-great grandchild: Micah Moore, Goddaughter: Dorothy Smith-Riley (Greg) and a host of nieces and nephews in Germany.
