Dennis J. Garcia passed away at our home in San Bernardino, CA with his wife by his side. He is a beloved Husband, Father, Grand Father and brother. He was born in San Bernardino, CA where he graduated from San Bernardino High School. He was a professional musician (drummer). He played in many bands known as the Priemiers, Blue Satins Zanzibar, Second Time Around and the Garcia Bros. He performed in Palm Springs at the HideAway with Billy Dare. There he was seen by Frank Sinatra and Tommy Lasorda. He performed for the Jerry Lewis Muscular Dystrophy Telethon at the Desert Hot Springs. He also performed at the Tennis Club and the Gene Andry Hotel. He was drafed by the United States Marine Corp. As a 0311; (Combat Action, Grunt). He was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He had P.T.S.D. and Agent Orange with Parkinson's. He was employed by Southern Ca. Edison as a Computer Draft Tech VII. for many years. Then Retired.
He is survived by his wife Mary Lou Garcia of 36 1/2 years. He was preceded in death by his father Alfred Garcia, mother Vivian Ordaz, and his step-father Felix Ordaz. His sons Dennis J. Garcia II, Vince D. Garcia (Cristina) and daughters Charisma U. Garcia, and Stephanie Holland. 7 Grandchildren, Shelby Garcia, Dennis J. Garcia III, Vince A. Garcia, Natalie and Anthony, Drew, and Amelia. He had 5 brothers; Anthony Garcia, Tudie Garcia (Curly), Gene Garcia, Benjie Garcia (Connie), and Duke Ordaz (Trisha). 3 sisters, Ruthie Garcia, Felicia Adame (Raul) and Cathy Healy (Patrick) and many nieces and nephews. He was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars American Legion and Disabled American Vets.
He will be dearly missed.
A Rosary will be held on Nov. 17, 2019 at Mt. View Mortuary from 6:00-9:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be held on November 18, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Adelaide Church in Highland CA. The burial will be held at Riverside National Cemetery at 2:00 P.M. a reception will be held at the V.F.W. post 8737 West Foothill Blvd. at 4:00 P.M. Musicians that would like to honor Dennis to jam will be appreciated.
