David Jason Duke, 89, of San Bernardino, passed away on the afternoon of March 18, 2023. David was born on June 27, 1933, to Emmette Jason Duke and Beatrice Marie Perry (Duke) in San Bernardino, California. He proudly served in the military during the Korean War.
After his service. David was the proud business owner of Del Rosa Upholstery in San Bernardino and Highland, California for close to 40 years. He enjoyed working with his hands until it was no longer possible, at which he retired and focused his time on family and his hobbies.
David had a passion for classic cars. He enjoyed restoring classic cars and both attending and participating in classic car shows with his family. He was an avid sports fan who's favorite basketball team was the Los Angeles Lakers. He also never missed a NASCAR race if he could help it.
David was a loving father and devoted grandfather. He thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren at every opportunity he could. He was very thoughtful and generous to others, often purchasing small treats for his neighbors or saving his desserts to share with his great-grandchildren at the next visit. David will be thoroughly missed by all those who knew him.
David was preceded in death by his parents Emmette and Beatrice Duke, his brother George Duke and his sister Pamela Henke. He is survived by his former wife Jo Ann Duke, daughter La Vonne (Kirk) Holman, his granddaughters Heather (Justin) Meeker and Wendy Holman, 7 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held in early summer as a way to celebrate his 90th birthday.
