Daniel Hernandez

Daniel Hernandez, 82, of San Bernardino, California passed away on March 2, 2023. Daniel (aka Danny & Shaggy) was a lifetime resident of San Bernardino, California. He was married to the love of his life Rachel M. Hernandez for 64 loving years. He worked hard for over 42 years to allow his wife Rachel to remain home as a wonderful homemaker, mother and grandmother. After his retirement in 2003 he dedicated the remainder of his life and time to his wife and family.

He was a dedicated Route Supervisor for the City of San Bernardino’s Refuse Collection Department for 42 years. There, he was given the nickname Shaggy Dog by his dedicated friends/coworkers. He was greatly respected by them for his hard work and dedication. He also worked part time for the San Bernardino City Unified School District for 27 years at the Allred Child Development Center as a Custodian I.

Daniel is survived by: His siblings Lupe Pedroza, Alfonso Hernandez and Adrian Cordova. His three children, Stella Espindola, Gabriel Hernandez, and Vicky Chacon, 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

Daniel was predeceased by: his parents Estella and Jose. His siblings Ruben, Lola, Joe and Rachel.

His grandson Jose and his beloved wife Rachel.

A funeral service for Daniel will be held Friday, March 31, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Mt. View Mortuary & Cemetery, 570 East Highland Ave, San Bernardino, CA 92404, followed by a committal service from 12:15 PM to 1:00 PM.
