Yolanda Barrientes went to be with the Lord March 14, 2012 at the age of 65. Yolanda lived in San Antonio, Texas and was a loving mother and wife to her beloved family. Yolanda was a lover of life and God. She spent her life devoted to her family and faith. Although not a high school graduate, she never let her limitations limit her life. After a life changing commitment to Christ, she committed herself to His service alongside her husband for over 25 years as a Pastor. During which time she went back to school to finish her GED and go on to get her Bachelor Degree in Biblical Studies. If that was not enough, she raised her 3 children along with 3 grandchildren, and traveled to over 7 countries in her spare time. Never was there a moment lost in her life. She inspired all who met her to love each other, never give up and love God. She was preceded in death by her husband Dr. Jose R. Barrientes and her sister Linda Torres. She is survived by her father and mother Jesus and Rosa Torres; daughters and sons, Christine De La Cruz, Rose Marie Rodriguez, Chrissy De La Cruz, Gilbert Hernandez III, Carlos De La Cruz Jr., and Christopher De La Cruz; son and daughter in law, Roy Rodriguez and Hilda Hernandez. She has several grandchildren, Rebecca, Ruth, Renee, Roy III, and Regina Rodriguez, and Catalina Hernandez; great grandchildren, Carlos III, Jose David, and Angel De La Cruz, Saul Martinez III, Joe Martinez IV, Luis E. Alvarez, and Caleb Cash Benavides. She has one surviving brother, Jesse Torres; four surviving sisters, Mary Alice Huron, Irma Sandoval, Diana Torres, and Sylvia Diaz.
A Visitation will begin, Sunday, March 18, 2012, 9:00 a.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with an evening service to be held at 6:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel, Monday, March 19, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with a funeral procession to follow to San Fernando Cemetery III.
