William S. Shaw Jr.

William S. Shaw, Jr. joined his mother and father William S. Shaw Sr. and Helen R. Shaw in heaven on February 10, 2011. Born September 2, 1935 in New Braunfels, Texas, Bill Shaw retired from City Public Service after 36 years and from the U.S. Naval Reserves after 34 years of reservist duty. Bill worked part-time at Alexander Utility Engineering Company when his special talents were needed. Bill was a member of The Better Service Club, Live Wire Club, 25 Year Club, and Retirees Club. He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, and playing golf for the Dewbusters Golf Club and in Tournaments over the years. Bill and his wife Joan bowl 9-Pin at the Highland Social Club. Bill loved the outdoors he hunted, fished, and travelled whenever possible.

Survivors include his faithful wife of 38 years Joan Elizabeth Shaw, William S. Shaw III and wife Shela, Ya Von Cooper, and husband Scott, and La Nett Shaw. Grandchildren, Chelsey Jo West, and husband Jerry, Dustin Gardner, Sarah Cooper, Rachel Cooper, John Charles Wiesner and wife Julie, great-grandchildren John Findley and Aubrey Wiesner, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Visitation and viewing will be 5-9:00 pm on Tuesday, February 15 at Sunset Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, February 16 at the Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
