I am heartbroken to hear of Bill's passing. I have known Bill for around 16yrs. He was always a very kind and joyous fellow. We worked together on several projects over the years and talked occasionally, always trying to plan a day when we could meet up for lunch.  He would say,as soon as I get to feeling a little better we are going to go to lunch.  Bill, you were my friend and I love you Brother. We are still going to meet up one day and have that lunch,,,I'm buying. God bless you and your family.

Bill was a wonderful friend and we had many laughs together. He will be missed.

Bill and his brother "Bubba" started a business together-Davis Brothers. They did the drilling and blasting for utilities for Horseshoe Bay in Marble Falls and went on the Rio Grande City for the same. They worked well together and looked forward to their breaks off work to go hunting in New Mexico every year and came back with stories-lots of stories. They really enjoyed that time together,

Bill is my oldest cousin.  I will always remember him as a loving and caring son, husband, father, and brother.  He enjoyed life to the fullest and, yes, he had the best laugh ever.  Bill fought a long battle and is now at peace.   He is very much missed.

THE TRAIN OF LIFE

“At birth, we board the train and meet our parents, and we believe they will always travel by our side.

As time goes by, other people will board the train; and they will be significant i.e. our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of your life.

However, at some station our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone.

Others will step down over time and leave a permanent vacuum.

Some, however, will go so unnoticed that we don’t realize they vacated their seats.

This train ride will be full of joy, sorrow, fantasy, expectations, hellos, goodbyes, and farewells.

Success consists of having a good relationship with all passengers requiring that we give the best of ourselves.

The mystery to everyone is: We do not know at which station we ourselves will step down.

So, we must live in the best way, love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are.

It is important to do this because when the time comes for us to step down and leave our seat empty, we should leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the train of life.

So much love for so many people, and so many people loved him. 

Mom and Dad were high school sweethearts. They were married 62 years.

Dad loved kids and he loved his grandchildren so very much. He was always there for a good talk or good advice for them. He wanted each and every one of them to live their best lives.

One of my favorite memories of my dad was his laugh. He laughed with his whole heart. If you were anywhere remotely close you would hear it. It was the best laugh ever.

My favorite memories with my grandpa is when he would pick me up everyday my eighth grade year and he would take me to sonic. I would always get a slushee and a pretzel. Papa would pick me up and say are we gonna go get a slurpee and a bagel!? My answer was always yes because I loved spending time with him.

The brother I knew at age 4 he built me a fort out of dining chairs and sheets; played with me all day. A few years ago, he asked me if I remember when they thought I had polio. Yes, I replied and then had to confess that I faked that whole event; planned for days but being 4 I would forget that when I woke up that I was not supposed to be able to walk. I remember he even carried me from the car into the doctor's exam room. We got a big laugh out of my confession!

At age 7 I was going to a birthday party, and I did not want to wear socks with my dress shoes, so I was having a 7-year-old tizzy. He told mom he would drive me to the party and that I would wear my socks. When we got in the car, he told me I could leave my socks in the glove box, and he would pick me up and I could put them back on and mom would not know. Yep, he was a great big brother!

When we were children, mom would give us money to walk down to the bakery next to Parker's Drug store on West Ave. to buy Chocolate Eclairs and he asked me if I remembered them. Little did he know that I had this same conversation with our brother on the day he died. Tookie told me that Earl Abel's still made that exact eclair. We got in his car and made an eclair run! Glorious!! 

I am so glad that I moved back to SA in 2009 as it gave us time to reconnect and make new memories. 

In 2010 I caught the flu and called him to go get my prescription. He called me and asked if I would meet him in the parking lot of my apartment, of course I said yes and we hung up. I waited for his call saying he was in the parking lot when there was a knock at my door. It was him, he said I thought you were going to me me in the parking lot!! I said you did not say when!! So, for my birthday he gave me a clock where all the numbers have fallen to the bottom! Good times!

I will miss him, the good times, the laughs, the memories.

Thank you for being there for your wife, and our mammy. We know you will watch over her.
