Timoteo Vasquez Trejo Sr., born on August 22, 1929 in San Antonio, Texas was called to be with our Lord on August 20, 2016 at the age of 86. Mr. Trejo attended Lanier Jr High and High School which he left at the age of 16 to enlist into the United States Army, having to lie about his age to serve his country. He served in the Korean War where he suffered a traumatic accident causing him to wear glasses for the remainder of his life. He was able to overcome this accident by the love and support of his wife, family and lifelong friend Nobert Resendiz. Mr. Trejo was a jack-of-all-trades with his first job being Alamo Blue Print in Downtown San Antonio and later being employed with Aztec Photo Copy, then working with Kirby Vacuums allowing him to learn every vacuum from the inside out. He loved to travel to neighboring states to visit their local casinos. Timoteo was an avid sports fan; among his favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and the San Antonio Spurs.
Mr. Trejo is preceded in death by the love of his life his wife, Yolanda (Yolie) Lopez; his parents Julian Trejo Jr. and Julia Vasquez; step father, Julio Pena; maternal grandparents, Cirildo and Gregoria Garcia-Vasquez; paternal grandparents; Julian and Carmen Quiroz Trejo Sr.; siblings, Theodora Trejo, Elvira Monroy, Eva Trejo, and Eliseo Trejo; sons, Timoteo Jr. and Richard Trejo; daughters Julia and Maria Angelina; grandchildren, Isabel Marquez and Mike Amaro Jr. and great grandchild, Alexis Canales.
Trejo is survived by his children, Mary Ellen Gonzales, Herlinda Trejo, Daniel Trejo, Eugene Trejo, George Trejo, John Edward Trejo, Jimmy Trejo, Dolores Snead, Julian Czeiszperger, Eva Thomas, and Tim Shultz; step children, Vickie Vasquez and Albert Lopez; brothers Jose Trejo Sr and Eugene Martinez. Timoteo is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitations will be Monday and Tuesday, August 29, 2016 through August 30, 2016 from 5:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00p.m. Tuesday evening, officiated by Pastor Jason Sides. A Chapel Service will be held Wednesday August 31, 2016 at 10:30a.m. at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, San Antonio, TX 78211, officiated by Pastor Humberto Renovato. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
