Terri Lee Leman passed far too soon on March 5, 2023. She was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on March 2, 1972 to Orlie and Sherra Wenzel but grew up throughout different areas in South Central Texas. The New Braunfels area is a place she would always call home.
Terri was an amazing wife and mother and an even better grandmother, or as she liked to be called, Yaya. She had a passion for traveling, gardening, cooking, baking and crocheting. Terri had a heart of gold and loved to laugh and smile. Her smile would light up a room and her laugh was contagious. Loud, but contagious. Terri was happiest seeing the smiles on the faces of her loved ones. She craved making memories and having stories to tell, and she certainly had plenty to go around. Somehow, they always seemed to be the funniest stories some had ever heard.
Terri knew how to make friends anywhere she went. During her travels with her husband Tres, no matter what adventure they were on - the beach, camping/glamping, at a gas station fueling up during their road ventures, or on the ocean trying to catch that marlin - there was always a friend to be made and smile to put on somebody’s face. Terri wasn’t afraid of the next adventure, and she was always ready to plan the next one. She loved the spontaneous vacation. After a couple glasses of wine, her and Tres would have the next adventure planned, leaving the following week to see more of the world and soak up the beauty of life. To Terri, there was always something beautiful in everything and every place she traveled to. She found such joy in being surrounded by family and friends, and loved being at the beach with her toes in the sand, soaking up the sun. Terri loved a good glass of wine in the evenings, learning to paint with her husband Tres. She looked forward to taking the paintings on her next vacation to see her girls and help them decorate their homes, leaving her special touch behind for them to enjoy. Spending time with her family will always be what we will remember, and it was what brought her the greatest joy in life.
Terri and Tres had a once in a lifetime love. He made her feel comfortable being her true self, and like one of her romance novels, they were fated. Their love showed their children what to look for in their own relationships, and she was forever grateful to find this love. They coincidentally grew up around each other as children but never met until later in life. Terri had found her best friend and lifelong partner in Tres.
Terri was such a strong woman and knew that if there was a legacy to be left behind for her children, it would be a sense of love, joy, strength and independence. She always wanted them to know that the possibilities were endless for them. She made sure that they were always well loved and taken care of. She was so proud of all her children and so proud of the husband that she was able to spend her years with.
Terri was loved by so many. She had so many friends that just adored her and hearts that have forever been touched by her beautiful soul.
She leaves behind her beloved family, and so many friends. Everyone who knew her loved her and her vivacious personality. Terri has now been reunited with her mother Sherra Wenzel, her sister-in-law Tanya Wenzel, mother-in-law Mary Leman and her uncle Raymond Proctor.
A visitation for Terri will be held Saturday, March 11, 2023, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232, followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
