Mrs. Sylvia Ortiz Sheridan peacefully passed away on March 22, 2021, at San Antonio Military Medical Center, Mrs. Sheridan fought a long and courageous 10 year battle with Cancer and Cardio Pulmonary complications, she was 78. Sylvia was born and raised in old-downtown San Antonio, Texas. She is preceded in death by her Parents, Andrew L Ortiz and Stella P Cruz, Brother Andrew L Ortiz, Son Paul Anthony Werline and Grandson Anthony Paul Werline, Husbands Robert L Werline and Colonel Dr. Rowland C. Sheridan Jr. DDS., USA. Her grandfather, Joseph T Cruz CPL, served as a founding member of the 87th Flying Training Squadron, Air Services. 1917-WWI and in WWII as well. Sylvia was an avid supporter of the Animal Defense League of Texas, loved animals and adopted many pets during her life. She worked many years for Hertz, Marriott Corporation and USAA. As a military wife, she traveled and volunteer supported U.S. Military and Command Activity advocacy programs all her life. An ardent volunteer of Fiesta San Antonio during the 1970’s she was well known for promoting the San Antonio Riverwalk and its businesses. She is survived by siblings Stella Touschoff, Shirley Korslund, Jimmi Conti, Celeste Conti and Crystal Eason. son’s Lawrence and Harold Werline, grandchildren, James Werline, Blair Werline, Leah Werline, Gabriel Werline, 3 great grandchildren.
