FUNERAL

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday August 5, 2016 at Trevino Funeral Home 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237. Funeral mass: 9 a.m. Saturday August 6, 2016 at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 804 Ruiz Street in San Antonio. Interment: Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum 17501 Nacogdoches Road in San Antonio.

MEMORIALS

Susie was born September 22, 1924, in San Antonio to the late Paz Lara and Susie Tovar Lara. Susie married the love of her life, Charles “Charlie” Scott on June 5, 1949. They were married for 59 years until Charlie’s passing in 2008. They were blessed with five sons and two daughters, raising their family in San Antonio, Ogden, Utah and Enon, Ohio before returning home to San Antonio in 1979.

Susie’s ultimate passions were her faith, family, and friends. Over the years Susie volunteered her time for the March of Dimes, Prince of Peace and Little Flower Catholic Churches. She enjoyed her time as a polling judge during the elections. She was an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church serving as a Eucharistic Minister. Susie will be missed by her many dear friends at Timberhill Villa. Her family and friends will miss her contagious smile, her humor, and generous heart.

She was preceded in death by her husband Charlie Scott; mother, Susie Lara Orosco; father Paz Lara; stepfather Jesus Orosco; brother, Manuel Lara; and sister Vera Tamayo.

Survivors:

Sons Charles and wife Susan, Larry and wife Diane, Raul and wife Dora, Saul, John and wife Lora. Daughters Martha Scott, Monica Rinks and husband Steve; fifteen grandchildren; four great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
