Steven is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathryn, brother Frank Lux, daughter Karin Lawler, son in-law Robert Lawler and grandsons Ronald and Samuel Lawler as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Steven was preceded in death by his parents Francis Walter Lux and Ester Yvonne Contich.
Steven began his law enforcement career in Mansfield, Ohio prior to moving to Fort Myers, Florida where he served with distinction at the Fort Myers Police Department then advancing to the Lee County Sheriff's Office. His career in law enforcement included being a supervisor/trainer of the K-9 unit, a Detective Sargent and a member of many shooting teams, including the Governor's Twenty. Law enforcement was his passion as well as serving the communities he loved.
Always happy, always positive, he enjoyed being outside golfing, fishing, hunting and traveling. He was an organ recipient and donor. Steven was charming, loving and generous with sparkling blue eyes and a passion for storytelling. From his years diving for lobsters in Key West to his many trips with his loving wife,
Steve had many friends and loved ones. His devious smile and sharp wit will be missed by all who knew him.
