Steve was a dedicated member of the United States Air Force, serving in Active Duty, Reserve Command, and Civil Service for over 30 years before retiring in 2011. He was a proud veteran of Operation Desert Storm and Operation Enduring Freedom. Through his work as an Avionics and Aerospace Maintenance Specialist, he achieved the esteemed rank of Senior Master Sergeant.
In his retirement, Steve continued to exercise his craftsmanship and attention to detail by planning and implementing numerous
home improvement projects, pouring his skill, dedication, and love into the home that he shared with his wife and children for 45 years. When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed watching movies while eating freshly popped popcorn, spending time with his grandchildren, and cheering on his favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys.
Steve exemplified a man driven by his love for his family and his faith in God. He led his life by carefully making decisions that would provide the most opportunities for his family, guiding them to live a spiritual, moral, and blessed life. He was a servant of the Lord that believed in the value of a strong work ethic and instilled these values in his children. He proudly fulfilled his responsibility to lead, protect, and provide for his family throughout his life.
Steve’s legacy will live on forever through the stories and memories he shared with those that he loved. He will be remembered for his laughter and endearing sense of humor. Although he was a quiet and reserved man, he was always able to speak up for what he believed in and what he knew was right, inspiring others to lead by action and example. He will also be remembered for his patience and playfulness, especially with his grandchildren who he adored greatly. Steve was loved dearly and will be remembered as the most amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
