Socorro Zamora, born on September 8, 1914 went to be with the Lord on December 27, 2015 at the age of 101. She is preceded in death by her mother, Anastacia Gutierrez and her husband, Andres F. Zamora. She is survived by her daughter, Margaret De La Cruz (Jose), her granddaughter, Marissa De La Cruz, and three great grandchildren; Rosemary De La Cruz, Alexander Delgado, and Emerald Delgado. Socorro loved to travel to Vegas with her family and go on family vacations in their motorhome. In Socorro’s early years she was a nurse’s aide and finished out her career being a seamstress for 45 years. A visitation will take place on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Roy Akers Funeral Home, 515 N. Main Ave., from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. that same evening. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:00 a.m. on December 30, 2015 for a 9:30 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1321 El Paso St., San Antonio, Texas with interment to follow in San Fernando Cemetery No. 2.
