Sean Driffill, of San Antonio, Texas passed away surrounded by his loving family on July 8, 2022. Sean was diagnosed with Werdnig-Hoffmann disease, a form of Muscular Dystrophy when he was 10 months old. Sean was never expected to live as long as he did, but through the heroic efforts of his mother and family, he lived a remarkable life.
While Sean was never able to walk, he lived a full life, participating in T-Ball, Cub Scouts, cross country trips, performing in the choir at Sandra Day O’Connor High School and attending College at University of Texas, San Antonio. In 1990 Sean served as the Junior Goodwill Ambassador for the Muscular Dystrophy Association in San Antonio. Through the generosity of the Make A Wish Foundation, Sean and his family were able to travel to San Francisco in 2005 where he had the opportunity to sing to a sold-out crowd at the Starlight Room at the Sir Francis Drake Hotel.
Sean was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen Veale Driffill in 2019. Sean is survived by his sister, Michelle Adam and her husband Tyler and his father Louis Driffill. Sean also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 13th from 6pm to 8pm at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road San Antonio, TX. A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Thursday, July 14th at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 13715 Riggs Road, Helotes, TX and internment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
