Sara was born on November 30th, 1941 to John and Lucile Rayborn of Concord, Illinois. Sara graduated from Chapin Highschool in 1959 and went on to live in many cities across the United States. In the late 1960’s, she settled in San Antonio, where she remained, raising a family and filling her time by sharing her love with all of her grandchildren. Throughout her life she had become an avid seamstress, gardener, wood worker and artist; skills she had learned from following her parents around as a child. She was deeply involved with her church throughout the years, and here she made many lifelong friends.
Sara is preceded in death by her husband of 31 years, Charles G. Deason III, her daughter Jennifer Deason Mann, and brothers John Rayborn & David Rayborn.
She is survived by her first husband, Earsel Gene of Hephzibah, Georgia, children Charles G. Deason IV, Courtenay (A.V.) Bowman, Eric (Catherine) Workman, Rachel (Chad) Tussey, and Andrew (Sarah) Deason; her sister Mary A. Rayborn of Concord, Illinois; brothers Charles Rayborn of Beardstown, Illinois, & Joseph (Marlene) Rayborn of Brooksville, Florida; grandchildren Kelsey, Dillon, Cameron, Chase, Kenedy, Mitchell, River, Juniper, Clover, Poppy, Fern, and Forest, as well as many other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She is now in glory with her God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Memorial service will be held at Christ Fellowship Church on October 19th at 10:00am, 5440 Vance Jackson Rd, San Antonio, Texas, 78230. Flowers are welcome and memorial contributions may be made to Christ Fellowship Church.
