Santiago "Jimmy" Luna Valdez

July 17,1933 - April 11, 2023

Santiago (Jimmy) Luna Valdez, born on July 17, 1933 in Losoya, TX was called to be with The Lord on April 11, 2023 at the age of 89 years. Mr. Valdez was born and raised in Losoya, Texas. Growing up he worked in the fields and cemetery for his father while also getting an education. At the age of 17 Jimmy volunteered for the U.S. Army and served in the Korean War. When he came home he started working jobs in the city of San Antonio and met his wife Mary Lou. They then started a family and moved back to where Jimmy was from in Losoya. Jimmy became a licensed plumber for the city of San Antonio parks and recreation, and retired after 26 years. Jimmy worked hard but was brought up as a dedicated family man. He loved dancing and making others laugh and smile.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Jose and Trinidad Valdez; son, Michael Anthony Valdez Sr.( Mr. Valdez's, Love of His Life) ;

siblings: Rodolfo Valdez, Macario Valdez, Jose Valdez, Ruben Valdez, Josefa Gil Valdez, Elvira Alcorta and Eloisa Rubio.

He is survived by his sweetheart of 8 years and loving wife of 52 years, Mary Lou Valdez; children, Jesse Valdez and his daughter, Jessica Valdez; Leroy Valdez (Anita), Jimmy Valdez and Sylvia Valdez; grandchildren; Jake Anthony Valdez, Michael Anthony Valdez Jr., Harley Ann Valdez and numerous other grandchildren; also, several great grandchildren.

The Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, 2023 at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 226 Cupples Rd. San Antonio, TX 78237 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Procession will depart from the funeral home on Friday, April 21, 2023 at 9:15 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Interment will follow in El Carmen Cemetery in Losoya.
