July 12, 1942 – May 11, 2021
Sue was born in Plainview, TX to Oren Keith “Ted” Cheatheam and Mary Odie Fisher.
In the early 60’s Sue was a stewardess with Central Airlines and enjoyed the adventure and the friendships she had. Some years later, she was hired as secretary for Richard King III at Corpus Christi National Bank. When she moved to San Antonio, she was hired by the Davidson Troilo Law Office and was secretary for Arthur Troilo and Cheree Kinzie. She cherished the friendships she made over the 18 years with the law firm.
After retiring in 2004, Sue spent time traveling around the state for genealogy research and antique hunting. She also enjoyed discovering the many gems in San Antonio, - the Missions, San Pedro Culture Park, Government Hill and Dignowity Hill neighborhoods and the San Antonio River Mission Reach She also delivered for Meals on Wheels for 8 years.
Sue was blessed to live in a neighborhood for 30 years with neighbors that looked out for one another and were such a special part of her life, especially Loraine and Jack Kratz.
Sue is survived by her daughter Shae Canavan McKean Dysthe, her brother and sister-in-law Mike and Jean Cheatheam of Lacey, WA and five grandchildren of whom she was so proud: Gavin McKean, Rachel McKean, Collin McKean, Sven Dysthe and Catherine Dysthe.
She will be remembered for her dimples, smile, laughter, strong will and loving friendship. Sue was a confident woman, sure of her capabilities and loved helping others. Small in stature but mighty in spirit, she will forever be loved, and missed.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Season’s Alzheimer and Memory Care and to Four Season’s Hospice for their loving care for Sue.
