Salvador M. Zumaran Jr. a devoted family man, proud veteran, and a tireless worker, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 12, 2024 at the age of eighty-four. Born on December 08, 1940 in San Luis, Mexico, Salvador dedicated his life to serving others, both through his military service and his unwavering commitment to his family and work.
Salvador proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, His dedication to his country was matched only by his dedication to his loved ones. After his service, Salvador built a life rooted in hard work and integrity, spending thirty-one years working for the city of San Antonio. Whether in his career or at home, he embodied the values of perseverance, humility, and kindness, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife Elia Zumaran, son Joe Martinez ( Debbie Martinez), daughter Maricela Trevino (Michael Trevino), sisters Carmen Zumaran, Dolores Zumaran-Gonzales (Frank Gonzales), nephews Steven David Zumaran (Christina Mendoza-Zumaran), John-Michael Zumaran Gonzales, grandchildren Michael Trevino Jr, Xavier James Trevino, Corinne Martinez, and great niece Jovita (Jovi) Luz Mendoza-Zumaran. He was predeceased by father Salvador Zumaran Sr and mother Luz Zumaran. Salvador will also be missed by his friends, neighbors, and all who had the honor of knowing him.
The Rosary services will be held on (December 29, 2024) at (7:00 pm) at Funeraria Del Angel Roy Akers Funeral Home (515 N Main Ave, San Antonio, TX 78205). With a burial to be held at Fort Sam the following day (December 30, 2024). Please meet at the Roy Akers at (9:00am) to be escorted to the cemetery.
Salvador Zumaran’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.
