Born and raised in San Antonio, Rudy moved to Los Angeles, living and working there for 20 years before returning back home where he worked for an antique dealership for many years, then worked part-time for the San Antonio school system, and finally, working for Santa Rosa Hospital before retiring. Rudy's hobbies included gambling trips to Kickapoo Eagle Casino in Eagle Pass with family members, and dancing at Bandera Flea Market every Sunday afternoon with friends.
He is preceded in death by father Julio C Hernandez, Sr, and mother Maria Hernandez Jimenez; brothers Julio M Hernandez, Jr, Richard M Hernandez, Sr, sisters Minerva H. Morin and Connie Fernandez Gonzalez; brother-in-law Salomon Morin, nephew Jeffrey Fernandez and niece Elizabeth Lopez.
He is survived by brother Alonzo M Hernandez, Sr, (Cande) and sister Hortencia Obadal. He is also survived by sister-in-law Lupe Hernandez, brother-in-law Jose M Gonzalez along with numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews and long time friends Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Gloria and family from Las Vegas, and Ms. Bertha Burreal and family from Los Angeles.
Rudy will be missed by all and will forever be in our hearts.
