We would like to share a few facts about Ruben. It is no surprise that Ruben truly loved the Lord. Anywhere he went he was ready to pray for someone or lead them to the Lord. He never let things get to him. His Joy was not with the things of this world, material things or money. Recognition and acceptance from others was not important to Ruben. He would always say that his rewards and riches are in heaven. Ruben was a simple humble man that would be there for anyone. He always said that we have to forgive people that hurt us and to pray for them and love them. Ruben never worried about anything he knew that God would always provide. When anyone would try and praise him, he never wanted to be acknowledged, he would always turn it around and say, it's not me . Thank you Jesus, but God deserves all the honor, all the glory and all the praise, I am simply a vessel that he uses.
Ruben and his wife Terry have been married for 11 years and have 25 grandkids between them. When God said to be fruitful and multiply, they said their kids took it and ran with it.
It's no secret that Ruben and Terry loved to fish, and that was one of the things they really loved and enjoyed doing together, every opportunity that got. He was a fisherman but more than anything, he was truly a FISHER OF MEN... for Jesus.
Ruben would always say, have Faith, and trust God in everything. Ruben even beat cancer, and that was a test in itself, however Ruben still trusted in the Lord. His passing from this virus was something that we did not expect. I know that Ruben would be saying, don't be sad, know where I am and I am rejoicing and singing with the Lord and it's so beautiful up here. Please be strong and keep your faith and keep God first always. He would always talk to his grandkids about the Lord and his family because he knew how important it is to have that personal relationship with God for our salvation. I know he would be saying, move forward, trust God, have faith, you can do all things through Christ who gives you strength.
Ruben worked for Avanzar for 14 years, where he worked in the production line. This is how much of an impact Ruben made on people. When Terry called to tell them about Rubens passing, from the receptionist to the HR department they were all saddened and each had a story to tell about him. They would tease him at work and call him Jesus because he was always singing and praising God and even then he would pray for his co-workers, but Ruben never took anything personal and as long as he was honoring God, he was fine. The company had stopped production for a moment of silence in remembrance of Ruben and also flew the company flags and half staff as well and passed out a newsletter regarding Rubens passing. What a great honor to know that he made a difference and knowing Ruben he would still be pointing his finger up at the sky and saying “ God deserves all the honor, all the glory and all the praise”.
Another thing that Ruben loved to do was to feed the homeless. Terry would make the sandwiches and snacks and get them packed and they were on their way to feed others. If Terry was working, Ruben went on his own and even took the grandkids to show them that we should be showing God's love to others and honoring God.
