Rosalva "Rosie" Flores is now rejoicing in the presence of the Lord. Rosalva was born in Villagran, Tamaulipas Mexico, December 7, 1929 to parents, Josue Rangel Infante and Velia Perale Rangel. She had three brothers Federico, Zenon, and Josue Jr. (all deceased) and two sisters, Lucina (deceased), and Hilda R. de Anda (Joel). She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Jacobo G. Flores. She leaves behind her daughters, Elsa Cortinas (Charlie), Marisela Williams, sons, Gabriel R. Flores (Denise), and Jacob R. Flores Jr.(Rachel). Her grandchildren include Charlie Cortinas III (Shaina), Jacob Y. Cortinas, Jennifer and Stefanie Williams, Jonathan Flores, Ana-Alicia Flores Cortez (Bill), Lauren Flores, and Mariah Jenee Flores, great-grandchildren, Jeremiah and Jade.
Rosalva came to the U.S. with her husband in 1956. She got her GED, attended SAC and received her Associate in Education. She was awarded a full Bi-lingual Scholarship to UTSA where she earned a Bachelor of Art Degree in Education. Rosalva maintained a 4.0 grade point average and was in the Honor Roll. She sang in the UTSA choir for four years. She loved her family and instilled in them love and faith for God. She was a faithful member of Eisenhauer Road Baptist Church. During her lifetime she served in many churches in San Antonio teaching school, playing the piano and singing in the choir. Her hobbies included watercolor painting and music but most of all she loved traveling and visiting family and friends in Mexico and the U.S. She was a wonderful mother, wife and sister.

Psalm 27:4 - One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. Visitation will be held from 4:00-9:00p.m. on Sunday, July 1st at Sunset Funeral Home. Service will take place Monday July 2, 2012 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Smith officiating.
