Robert A. Wagner died at age 89 on January 17,2011. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ollie and Laura Daulber Wagner. He retired from the U.S. Army in the grade of Lieutenant Colonel after 24 years of service as an Intelligence Officer. His military career included World War II, Korea and Vietnam. He was a life-long practicing Catholic and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Fourth Degree, and the Alamo Heights Optimist Club for over 25 years. He is survived by his sons, James Wagner and Stephen Wagner; grandson, Robert L. Wagner, and wife Jackie; granddaughters, Windy Rickmers, and husband Aaron, and Cindy Niemeyer, and husband Brad; great grandchildren, Dalten Rickmers, Blake Rickmers, Caitlin Rickmers and Hayden Niemeyer; and brother, jerry Wagner, and wife Dolores. The visitation will be held at St. Anthony Mary Claret Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 8:30 a.m., and a funeral mass will be held at 9:00 a.m. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with full military honors.
