Robert J Scott, age 82, passed away January 4, 2021 in San Antonio, TX. He was born in Platteville, WI on February 18, 1938 to Clifford and Beverly Scott. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who will be dearly missed. He was a man of deep Christian faith and sang in the church choir his entire life. As a petroleum geologist he pioneered work in the Austin Chalk using horizontal drilling and served as president of the South Texas Geological Society. He was an expert at building, fixing, and restoring old tools, firearms, knives, and a 1940 Packard. He was also an avid outdoorsman, teaching his sons to camp, fish, and hunt.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Marian Scott; sister Diane Kammerzelt (husband Jim); sons: Cliff Scott (wife Sherry) and Andy Scott (wife Kahley) ; grandchildren: Madison, Colton, Tyler, Riley, and Aubry.
The Visitation will be 5-7 pm, Wednesday January 13, 2021 at Sunset Funeral Home.
The Funeral Service will be 1 pm, Thursday, January 14, 2021 at St. Andrew's United Methodist Church, 722 Robinhood Pl, San Antonio, TX 78209. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
