He was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 16, 1957. Bobby attended Fox Technical High School in San Antonio, Texas and earned his GED in his early twenties.
He started his love for cooking at Denny’s from which he grew his skills and moved on to be a chef for many years. His cooking was loved and respected by everyone who had the pleasure of joining for a meal. He moved on to the automotive world where he managed a service department alongside his friends. Never afraid of a new challenge he entered the world of communications where he held several technical and field management jobs in the fiber optic and data communications business. He retired in 2022 when he was diagnosed with Cancer. He always maintained a positive and selfless attitude until the end.
He was married to Linda Schmidt in San Antonio, Texas in 1985. His son was born in 1986 in San Antonio, Texas. He was a man of many hobbies. Fishing, hunting, spending time outdoors, traveling, cooking and entertaining. He was always busy with something. Most of all he just loved to make people laugh. He loved to give and receive a good story and his laughter was contagious.
He is survived by his wife SanJuanita Garza of the house. His son Robert Anthony, his wife Alexandra and two grandchildren Koa Rodriguez and Kaya Rodriguez from Bend Oregon; his brothers and sisters Jesus J Rodriguez and wife Elouise and children Elouise Logan and her children Jack and George from Tampa, Florida; Adelaide and husband Jeremy Newlam and her children Elleana and Jeremy James from Wichita, Kansas and Jesus J Jr (deceased) and wife Katie McDermot and children Marina, Nathaniel, Allec, Levi, and Abigail from Greenwood, Arkansas, his sister Marta and Robert Ramirez and their daughter Monica Gonzales and son Joseph from San Antonio, Texas; his brother John and his daughter Dina from San Antonio, Texas; his sister Guadalupe (Lupi) Garcia and sons Manuel and Marco Antonio from San Antonio, Texas; his brother Rene and Eliza Rodríguez from San Antonio and Stephen and his daughters Eva, Amber, and Alyssa from Austin, Texas and Joseph from San Antonio, Texas.
He was friendly, caring, and helpful to all. He always kept a positive mindset. He was a dreamer, loving father and an amazing grandfather, a happy and supportive brother and a good son. He made friends easily and had the super power of lightening any mood. Bobby was truly a shirt off his back kind of person. Your happiness was always more important than his own. Through laughter and love he touched everyone that he knew.
He was preceded in death by his parents Juan and Mercedes Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas.
Funeral arrangements will be provided by Sunset Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, Texas. A private viewing has been scheduled.
