SP5 Richard Martinez Sr., U.S. Army, was born on October 3, 1944 in San Antonio, TX. He was called to be with the Lord on April 27, 2017 at the age of 72. He is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria Linda Martinez; parents, Patricio and Josefa Martinez. He is survived by his children, Gerard A. Avila (Marsha), San Juan R. Martinez (Anabelle), Richard Martinez Jr., Vangie Love Hope Martinez, Ronney Martinez (Rosa) and Valerie Martinez (Sotero Cortez); grandchildren, Jonathan, Theodora, Savannah, Kailyn, Alani, Briana, Madison, Iliana, Kelsey, Alexa, Gilbert, Gabrielle, Samantha, Dominque, Mathew, Jacob, Miguel, Isaiah, Marisol, Abraham, Lee, Juan, Ronney Angel, Joseph, Linda, Richard, Israel, Gloria, Gerard and Kattleya; great grandchildren, Sahara, Bailey, Addison, Ociel, Eric, Amaeris, Dominic, Adian, Alaya, Halo and Unique; sisters, Elida Ayaya, Juanita Vasquez and Virginia Diaz; brother, Victor, Jacinto and Joe Martinez; La Concentida sister-n-law, Vero Baiza. The Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday May 9, 2017 at Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Rd. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. The Service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in San Martin Cemetery, 1604 at Stuart Rd.
