Richard Jenkins Jr.

Richard Jenkins Jr., age 72 was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 in San Antonio, Texas. Richard was born in Fort Bragg, North Carolina on Thursday, May 24, 1951 to Richard Sr. and Thelma Jenkins.

Left behind to carry on Richard's memory is his loving wife of 52 years, Diane Jenkins; his daughters, Michelle Ryan and Laura Jenkins; sisters, Vivian Robinson, Elizabeth Tanner, and Charlene Baxter; and his brother, Daniel Jenkins.

Richard is reunited in Heaven with his parents, Richard and Thelma Jenkins; and his sister, Silvia Jenkins.

Richard served honorably in the military for 20 years and continued to serve while working for a private contractor, Symboint for another 12 years before he fully retired.

Richard was an avid woodworker and mechanic who never met a tool he didn’t like. He loved to watch a good movie in his home theater with his family and had interests in genealogy. Richard was also well traveled.

Richard was a smart dresser, loved his corvette and could fix any computer. He absolutely loved hanging out with his brother, he loved to laugh with him and looked forward to every visit.

Richard will be remembered most for the love he held for his family, his wife, children and granddaughter. He also had a great love for his sisters and his brother.

A celebration of life for Richard will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232. Following the celebration of life will be a committal service from 2:00 PM to 2:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
